CBD Oil

The world of CBD Oil has seemingly exploded in recent months and with top brand cbdMD now sponsoring the AMA Supercross it is certainly a new topic of conversation in the off road industry. Masters of MX (UK cbdMD stockist) have complied some information on cbd oil and the benefits that this THC-free cannabis oil can bring you.

What is Cannabidiol (CBD)?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a natural compound that comes from the leaves, stalks, and flowers of industrial hemp or marijuana cannabis. It is the most widely accepted non-intoxicating cannabinoid found in Cannabis sativa plant. Hemp-based CBD extracts should not be confused with CBD from marijuana, even though they both derive from the same plant – all cbdMD Broad-Spectrum CBD products contain CBD extracted from industrial hemp.

Is CBD Oil Legal in the UK?

Yes, CBD Oil that is THC-free is legal to buy and consume in the UK. You also do not need a doctors prescription to consume CBD oil. We are an approved cbdMD UK stockist, who purchase from cbdMD's only UK distributor.

Will I Get "High" from Using CBD?

No. Because CBD is a non-intoxicating component from industrial hemp, which legally must have less than 0.3 percent of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), there’s no “high” or euphoric effect as a result of using hemp-derived CBD.

What are the benefits of CBD Oil?

In general cbdMD CBD oil has proven to help manage pain and assist recovery, maintain your general well-being and improve sleep. CBD oil is also known to aid menthal health issues such anxiety or depression.

cbdMD products have many uses and multiple ways to administer from basic oils to gummies, bath bombs to rubs. If you have any questions or are not sure which product would work best for you please get in touch with out friendly team who will be happy to assist.

Are all brands of CBD oil the same?

Absolutely not. Take your time to research the oil and company manufacturing it. Anyone can claim to sell CBD oil. Before buying CBD oil online, review their independent third-party lab results publicly posted online. If there are no third-party lab results available, request them before purchase. If they can’t provide them, avoid making a purchase. We'd also advise reading reviews on either their website, social media or independent review sites. If you are struggling to find many reviews, be wary of falsely advertised quality CBD oil.

cbdMD products use THC-free, USA-grown industrial hemp that is non-GMO and vegan. You can view cbdMD's third-party lab results here.

What does the 'mg' on the label mean?

Most CBD oil products will have a number on the front of the bottle, often ranging from 300 mg to 10000 mg. This number is not the amount of CBD oil you get in every tincture or capsule but is instead the total amount of CBD contained within the CBD oil product.

The actual amount of CBD you receive should be the total CBD number on the front (in milligrams), divided by the number of servings in the bottle.

Are there any circumstances when someone should not use CBD oil?

It should not be used if you are pregnant or nursing. Consult with a physician before use if you have a serious medical condition or use prescription medications.

How much CBD should I take?

Because each person’s body structure is unique, it is difficult to set a predetermined measurement that is right for everyone. We recommend to start with a low dosage (300mg) and figure out what works best for your body from there.

Some information from cbdMD themselves:

Without baffling us with science too much, how does CBD actually work?

In the human body, there is something called the Endocannabinoid System. This is a biological system which binds cannabinoid receptors in the body. These receptors are known as 2 types - CB1, and CB2, which serve distinct functions in human health and well-being. CBD is one of the many Cannabinoids tested, and these fit like lock and key with the receptors CB1 and CB2.

For the average off-road racer, what benefits could they hope to achieve from using cbdMD products?

Whether its to maintain general well-bring, or become more proactive with a daily wellness routine, there are various ways in which CBD oil is useful. CBD is a natural anti-inflammatory, so it could be linked with a variety of things for all types of sports recovery. Some of our products also include the likes of: Arnica, Aloe and Lemon grass to help with these types of aches and pains.

With an off-road racer in mind, which cbdMD products would you recommend they use to fit in with their weekly schedule?

For most of our athletes, and sports focused consumers, the topical range are the best sellers. This comprises of the Freeze and Recover. Along with this, combining those 2 products with the Oil is a great combination.

There's a lot of information in the media about CBD brands that sell products that are CBD-free or contain THC. What sets cbdMD apart from this rogue type of supplier?

As there are no major regulations yet in the UK, these ‘rogue suppliers’ definitely exist. Consumers are becoming more aware of what to look for when choosing a CBD brand and there are some key points to look for. With cbdMD all products are: Organic, Co2 extracted, THC Free, No GMO’s and Third Party Lab Tested. Many brands in the market, do not comply with many of these points. cbdMD is also a New York Stock Exchange, publicly traded business - so there is some trust there from consumers too!

We're seeing cbdMD partner up with a lot of leading series and athletes in various different types of sports. How important is it to forge relationships of this sort for a company such as cbdMD?

Hugely important!! cbdMD has a unique approach separating them from many others in the space. Partnering with professional athletes across multiple disciplines and large scale-sponsorship are key for brand expansion and recognition. Globally we work with some of the biggest athletes in the world, including: Chad Reed, Josh Sheehan, Nate Adams, Blake Williams, Tommy Searle, Ken Block and many more.

How much is the CBD market worth globally/in the UK? And what hurdles do you see the industry facing in the future?

It was reported on the BBC last week that manufacturers claim sales in the UK are up to £300m currently. This is expected to rise to a £1B industry by 2025. It is becoming a rapidly growing important consumer market. The US CBD industry is anticipated to surpass the $20 Billion mark by 2024, according to Forbes.

On of the biggest hurdles I see facing us are these ‘Rogue Suppliers’, as you called them. However, I feel that consumers would only buy from these types of places once. There also needs to be some regulations put in place to stop these types of sellers selling product that contains little to no CBD in comparison to what they advertise. I don’t see these sellers being an issue in 1-2 years if we see some regulations put in place to make the industry a safer, healthier place for consumers to purchase.

Are there any potential side-affects to using CBD - either as suggested or overusing the products?

There has been no evidence to suggested that you could overdose on CBD. The W.H.O (World Health Organisation) stated “CBD is generally well tolerated with a good safety profile.” They also stated - “Research indicates that CBD is not associated with abuse potential.”.
